the first version of wm.v2 - took long enough getting here, didn't it? This is the collective achievements of over two years worth of designing web pages - everything I always waned to do but couldn't think exactly how to accomplish it is in this design. The little pictures which show just a bit of the face, the objects as backgrounds, the minimalist feel, funny purple colour scheme - everything!

the objects are supposed to represent aspects of our (western) culture and I think it works, that is if you wait for them to load in. The site still looks at its best @ 1024x768 but it looks fine (and more importantly) is useable at 800x600.

the simple navigation system is easier for everyone else (not blessed with flash sadly) to update and the fact that unvisited links appear bold and visited ones just with a underline, allows you to see easier which parts of the site you have been to before - new stuff "stands out" of the page.

Of course I'm always thinking of ways to improve the site, whether that happens I don't know - maybe someone else will eventually take over design responsibility from me. In case you are wondering....it's my hand.

Err...this design eventually got canned at the end of July because (again) the emphasis of the site altered - oh well.
